Does our community use Custom ROMs?

Some might see some of those things as features… (e.g. being able to “downgrade” back to a working version).

Is this a special edition of LineageOS ? I am asking because I have try to implement MicroG but without success, so at the end I have installed Open Gapps Nano. If there is a way to use MicroG I would love to try this.

Thanks. I am waiting for a new image to be released as per the intructions I need one newer than my current Lineage release (Don’t want to clean flash from the beginning). Should be OK with the next release.

@pierrep56
You said you had Open Gapps Nano installed, are you able to remove that before migration?

I think I’ll uninstall all Google package with TB. It may work or not. If not, then I will clean flash. Will let you know once I’ll try. Thanks for the tips.

In all honesty, if I didn’t want to get rid of as much Google as possible, I’d have stuck with the default OxygenOS, because it’s an almost stock Android experience.

I’ve been using custom ROMs since the venerable Nexus S.
I really never felt the need for the G-Apps and services, as many of them have open alternatives.
This also means that I try to buy only devices which have decent support for custom ROMs, e.g. Nexus/Pixel series, many of which can run GrapheneOS and LineageOS (and others).
