Oh, please don’t get sniffy because you didn’t read the thread. The question wasn’t “how can I extract a tar file”, and the instruction to do that first doesn’t help with any of the later steps - unless you expected the OP to post back immediately with “OK, now what?” and you wanted to talk them through it step-by-step?

I’m native English speaking and i don’t understand half of these abbreviations. A lot of this stuff has come from social media and handheld mobile devices. I also think it comes from a younger generation who use these. I know some.
