I don’t think this has anything to do with using native language locale.
I dislike some ‘translations’, too.
So I switched my manpages from de_DE to en_US (sorry for your king
because I found it best readable for me.
Have had some trouble, reading mixed english & german (and often could not understand the german words ![]()
My DE (XFCE) is full german, no Problems so far, it fits the keyboard-layout and regular correspondence.
Firefox is very annoying with its translations, no matter what (foreign) language you are reading yet.
Switched to non-native en_US and never looked back. Other people have laid out reasons why it can be practical.
I disagree, actually I see English vocabulary as a positive. You talk in and can reason in your native language, but the technical terms are in English, and therefore immediately indicate a specific meaning as a term of the trade. Invoking them makes communicating much clearer.
I hire. And I have no issues in finding good coders or engineers.
