Display doesn't work when turning on PBP

Hello! I recently switched my desktop to EndeavourOS (and enjoying it so far).

One issue I haven’t been able to figure out is related to my monitor’s PBP (Picture-by-Picture) mode. I have an ultrawide samsung odyssey g9. Sometimes I use the PBP mode to split the monitor into two separate displays. When in this mode, my desktop gets the left half of the screen and my laptop gets the right half of the screen.

Whenever I turn PBP on, I can hear the sound kde makes when new hardware is plugged/unplugged but there is no display output from the desktop. The display from the laptop works fine. If I unplug the display port cable from my graphics card and then plug it into a different displayport port, everything fixes itself and works normally.

If I turn PBP off, it also seems to be able to recognize that change and expand itself to the correct resolution. It’s only when turning PBP on that is an issue afaict. If I leave PBP on and put the computer to sleep, it’s able to wake back up and work without issue. I also tried putting the computer to sleep with PBP off, turning PBP on, and then waking it up - this didn’t fix it either.

When PBP is off, the resolution is 5120x1440. When PBP is on, the resolution is 2560x1440p.

Does anyone know what is wrong or what I should look into to fix it? I used the welcome tool to upload the X session / X.org logs here if it helps: https://0x0.st/XF0L.txt

note: I also have a usb switch I use to switch my keyboard/mouse between the two machines so that’s why it looks like those reconnect often.

This is my understanding how PBP is supposed to work. I’ve seen others post about DP output doing similar.

Is the desktop output also display port or HDMI?

Edit: Nice hardware BTW! Wish i could give you an answer. :crying_cat_face:

Both the desktop and laptop are using display port. The laptop is technically usb-c to display port, but the desktop is dp on both sides.

Thanks! It’s a brand new build after rocking the same pc for the last 7+ years or so
