The way that they had handled Star Wars gives me little hope if the house of Disney were to become the house of Star Trek too.

On a side note, there are rumors floating around that the house of mouse wants to sell Star Wars Franchise. If these rumors are true then Disney has been trying to sell it for at least 7-8 months now without any success.

I used to watch the original StarTrek as a kid and it was already on edge for me at age ten, and got progressively worse toward the end when just about every episode was the same spiel: Kirk battling it out with a lone planetary alien being and a swarmy kirk/alien chic love story on the side, but loved StarTrek (mostly TNG and Deep space 9) for not veering too far from reality as to science and a possible if even implausible future.

I never could stand fantasy much at all including most Disney movies accept the very early masterpieces of animation which were far and few in between, and more for the excellent art work, coloration and intricate detail, and Star Wars didn’t appeal for that matter to me, except for the very first time when I saw it on the big screen, but the second time around I payed more attention to the story, rather than the yet unseen special effects, aliens and production and space ship battles; that sort of thing. It showed a lot of good and bad about humanity, and was a pretty thorough representation of every religion, culture, race, and ideology to the point you could tell who was who for the most part, but in such an exaggerated way stereotyping came to mind and not necessarily in a good way either for too many being gross generalizations some towards the bigoted side, and the first impression faded away.

Then the subsequent and out of sequence sequels were more hit or miss with the second being more tolerable. And there were some real doosies in there too, like the one with the whatever the button nosed munchkin like thingies were was abysmal… and even independently created add on and side stories as if it had been open sourced, or just outside of expectable litigation territory, but they too were all over the place in quality and story line. That happened with StarTrek too, and the one placed before the original wasn’t all that bad, others not so much, even the movies were hit or miss too.

I’m dying to see “Snow white and the 7 Sith lords” or “StarTrek-X, with captain Pocahontas” a collaboration of Disney and Elon Musk!

that name has no place on this forum or any forum.

Sounds like a film in the adult-area, so maybe your wish was already someones command.

So glad to see agreement! As much as politics on this forum, I understand how it can creae flack, but this is not a freaking drill, this shit is real, and a failure to act could be to the detriment of not just the US, but a large portion of the world!

Forum rules:

  • Avoid polarizing content. We have a diverse member base spanning many geographies and cultures so please do not post content related to politics, religion or other controversial subjects.

Sorry, but sometimes bending the rules are absolutely required, and shouldn’t be enforced for their urgency.
If there is a section of the sight where it is not a crime to try and save human lives for which millions are at stake as we speak, that would have great utility for many members, even if only for the time being. Besides it’s not what I came here to do, but a need to know name came up, in that regard.

I disagree. This forum is about and for the discussion of Linux, in particular, EndeavourOS and not politcs. If one wants to discuss or rant and rave about politcs they should go to a forum that is for and about politics and not on this forum!

@Bink and @linux4ever are right, discussing politics is forbidden because people will endlessly fight about whatever thing they believe, and then the EOS forum will just be another crappy site on the internet where people go to argue.

I’ll close this one down before it goes any further, since sadly April Fools day is behind us now anyway. I say “sadly” because it is the one day of the year where people actually stop to think about whether what they just read on the internet is true or not. :smiling_face_with_tear:
