Hey. Remember that you are a member of a community with many users. Just because one or a few users make you feel bad in some way, doesn’t mean everyone is against you.
Your suggestion is good, and mine is not “better”.
It just limits adding tools you don’t already have.
The OP ultimately decides what is “better” for them based on their needs/preferences.

As a suggestion, maybe close the forum tab for the rest of the day. I think you’re compounding negative views/interactions, and someone else may react to you in an equally negative way.

This was obvious when I noticed that you removed your profile image. It’s a secondary reason why I suggested just leaving the forum for the day. It’s usually enough. You could even just log out for a month or so.
Not trying to get you to change your mind. Just giving suggestions.
Also, in case you didn’t know, there is an “Ignore/Mute User” feature. I’ve used it on at least 15 members so far. Just checked: 29 users to be exact.

That page is only accessible by you. But generally, you go to the person’s profile, click the drop-down that says “Normal” and change it to “Muted” or “Ignored”.
I always enjoyed reading your post, hope you will be around for years to come. Maybe take @anon93652015 suggestion and close the forum tab for the rest of the day.
I don’t even use EOS anymore why should I stick around? I’m just here to regurgitate the same things every day and provide nothing of value due to complete lack of knowledge of this OS

Maybe because it’s the friendliest Arch distro forum? I find it so.
I still run EOS on my server, and if I decided to redo the desktop again, I’ll probably bring it back (which is almost a certainty, I can hardly go six months w/o reloading just for the kicks of it).
I have NO idea what’s going on that has upset you (socially insensitive, etc), but I don’t think you should make a hasty decision in what seems to be a depressive stage. I can say that I sometimes go in to a tailspin due to something on social media (it’s dangerous out there!).

what i have to contribute is obsolete solutions, hot takes about privacy, worshipping VPNs and derailing threads ad infinitum. i already deleted my account once in 2021, not hard to do it again.

not knowing anything about all the stuff in this thread, I just want to say I like your posts and what you have to say. Sounds like you’re having a bad day and I’ve had a ton. 2024 has been probably the foulest of all the years.
**I might actually solve someone’s problem once out of 50 times, but I might have got them in the direction to solve it themselves a few times and I enjoy troubleshooting and learning and the patient and funny people here. That one sentence probably describes all but 5 of us here
