I’m using the standard extra/discord package, however it also doesnt work on the discord_arch_electron package i installed to see if it would make a difference - this is what is still installed now.
Spotify still works fine! As does PreMiD for netflix support, its just local things like games that dont show up at all! I cant find any information about this online because its such a “common” issue; that issue being that most people download the flatpak and wonder why it doesnt work, meaning that that issue floods any and all search results.
Please help! If any extra information is needed than please do let me know, been trying at this for a while with anything i could think of and yet no dice. Thank you!
Oh it worked! No issue no problem, for years! Atleast for me. It was only until whenever the new update hit that this issue came about for me, which is a shame because other than this I really like the redesign.. oh well..
You’re correct in saying that it never worked on the flatpak/snap version without some trickery and changes to some files, as flatpaks are self-contained and such, but the regular arch version of discord either from the extra/ repository or the AUR worked flawlessly - until now.
No clue. I only once stumbled upon a video complaining about the poor support from discord in terms of the linux client. And as a major example the uploader specifically mentioned the game activity and rich presence for games has been broken for several years, at least for the (unofficial) linux client.
I’m not a frequent discord user and don’t see a use for me personally for these features. Thus I don’t have any first hand expierences with it, only use it browser-based every once in a while.
