Disconnecting from VPN causes wired connection to lag until reconnection

When I disconnect from VPN connection via default network manager, my main wired connection becomes slow and unresponsive: pages takes a lot longer to load, rather than low bandwidth it seems to be like ping taking a dozen seconds. It goes away after disconnecting and reconnecting wired connection.

Could there be done anything about it?
It’s been happening for about two years since I’ve started using EOS.

(opinion only) I suspect it’s either the DNS settings not being properly reverted or a route issue.
Good luck.

I think it is likely but I have no idea what can be done about it.
Reconnecting every time is not fun.

Well, dig in, find out exactly what the problem is. Then do whatever is needed to fix it (configuration or scripting).

I did that and failed, at best I can make a script that does the reconnection after VPN is disconnected but it is hacky.
So there is my hope that someone might know something.
