Hi,
I currently have a more or less working setup with a 10th Gen Intel CPU and a NVIDIA dedicated GPU. As I have nothing but issues with sleep/hibernate with the NVIDIA GPU, Im thinking about disabling it on a kernel level.
I rather sacrifice the prime offload, than not being able to be use sleep/hibernate in a useful manner. So now a few questions arise.
- Will I even achieve that my goal is with this? Reading the bit of disabling the GPU on Arch Wiki seems so
- What will I have to do to clean this up? Is that even realistically possible?
- Or am I better off with going with a new clean install of the OS without NVIDIA drivers and disabling it directly after install?
I just tried the naive way and just adding the udev rules and nouveau blacklist, which resulted in killing my DE. That’s what makes me question if a real cleaning up afterwards is even possible (feels a bit like changing DE from Gnome<>KDE)
