Desktop loads up slow!

With the recent update, the desktop loading hangs for a long period after the log on screen. This happens on wayland and X11. There was like 53 packages from the extra repository, so I don’t know what’s causing the issue. I had to downgrade using (eos-shifttime) to yesterdays date to eliminate the problem. The only thing I updated was the archlinux-keyring. If anyone knows what packages are causing the issues, please let me know.
Thanks

The next plasma update (6.2.2) should fix it.

It appears to be resolved (for me).

It actually seems fixed now for me with plasma 6.2.1

I’ve noticed this with 6.2.1 as well, but there’s another update for kwin and plasma-workspace. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Edit: That seems to resolve it :+1:

I just updated on my Nvidia desktop and it also is working properly. Desktop loads as it should.

Just going back to the transition from KDE4 to KDE5 (Plasma) and Wayland from X11 I (seem) to remember all of these exact issues occurring. I am running XFCE on X11 and having no issues. Give it time kiddies and these things will sort themselves out. Until then expect chaos. Last time took KDE more than a year. Wayland, who knows, I don’t.

bug : Startkde

It’s a bug in Kde-Splas-Init.

Fortunately it’s already fixed.

Regards.

This is why I wait until every Sunday to update my Arch system.
