Desktop (KDE Plasma) takes minutes to load after login

Hello!

Yesterday I ran into a weird bug.
The booting process goes smoothly as usual, but after I login (using sddm), the desktop just doesn’t show up. Every autorun apps (like Welcome) appear, and I can start other apps from Konsole, but the wallpaper (and files/icons on desktop) and the panel takes long (usually 2-3 minutes to appear).

What I did so far:

  • reinstalling relevant packages (plasma-workspace, kwin, plasma-desktop, mesa) and kernel
  • masking KWallet (found it online, but it didn’t help me at all, so I unmasked it)
  • disabling and re-enabling baloo

I checked journalctl and this is what I think could be the issue:

After that there’s a long “break” in time and then the desktop/taskbar loads.

Tried googling the “Failed to register with host portal QDBusError” message, but there were a lot of different problems associated with it, none of which seems to be relevant to me.

I performed a full system update (using pacman -Syu) before this bug appeared, but it finished without any problems.
I also disabled Baloo not much before the bug appeared, because it was eating my RAM like crazy. Although I have disabled it in the past as well and it caused no bugs; and since then I re-enabled and it didn’t help.

I have an AMD graphics card.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Have you also done a AUR update, because I can see this package has been updated recently (12/07).

Actually I did (I don’t know why I forgot to add), but it was after I had the problem, and I don’t have this particular package, or relevant ones installed.
