Desktop freezing

Good day everybody and thanks for helping me. Once in a while, my desktop freezes and the keyboard does not respond; I need to force shutdown by pressing the button on the CPU. I noticed that it mainly happens when opening dolphin: has anyone had the same issue? If needed, how do I share system logs? Thanks alot

I would recommend update the Bios to the latest version 2.70.
Please be careful and follow the instructions on the Asrock website because it makes a difference if you update it under Windows. I personally would use instant flash.

https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z270%20Extreme4/#BIOS

Edit: It could also be an issue with using Nouveau open source drivers as i see the Nvidia drivers aren’t installed. I would definitely update the Bios first and see.

Check With the Nvidia Driver…

Do you mean I should install nvidia drivers? Thanks

You can install them using program nvidia-inst.
It is a good idea to see what it would install, use command

nvidia-inst --test

first. If that seems OK, then simply

nvidia-inst

and reboot.

And just in case, be sure to have the LiveISO installer around.
