Default Wallpaper Deleted On Its Own

There’s another recent thread describing a similar issue. I believe it is an issue with KDE or SDDM, but I haven’t had time to chase down other bug reports, etc to verify. Thread here:

Hi all, after an update today I’m no longer able to set a wallpaper for SDDM - or rather it looks like I can, but it still shows the default image of what appears to be a Voyager probe against a purple background. My custom wallpaper was working fine until this morning. I’m using KDE. Any ideas?
