Yeah, Spotify is great. I liked it for the user playlist. I am big on “suggestions” when it comes to music. I just can’t live without the clear (all) queue thing, especially when driving. I don’t have time to go through each individual song to remove it, or find where in the que to start what I want to listen to, etc.
I am trying out Amazon Music, rebuilt my playlists last night and fortunately found all my obscure remixes, etc, even some Spotify no longer licensed and made available. I am sure it won’t stack up to Spotify’s “suggestion” playlist, but it is also cheaper. We will see how it goes.
I have tried Tidal for 3 months but I then decided to switch back to Spotify, mainly because I like to read the friends feed on Spotify. And I notice that Tidal does not support offline playback on a computer while Spotify can. So I use a Tidal music converter to help me backup all my Tidal playlist and import them to Spotify.
I like Bandcamp too. Started buying my music there. Not bought that much yet.
I have YouTube Premium so I get YouTube Music too. I have uploaded my own music there. It’s okay, but a little messy! As far as I know, it is only YT music and Apple music that you can upload your own music. I do not want Apple music!
Usually it will be my own music with my own favorite music player.
Tidal may ba a nice choice. Now I am on Tidal and listen to the music. And to listen to Tidal music offline on the go, sometimes I use the DRmare Tidal Music Converter to help me. If you go for Tidal, you could also do that like me. Hope you can enjoy your music.
I use Deezer, quite happy with their music catalog (A lot of European Jazz, fits my like) and the quality of their Flac streaming. Also additional apps like Deemix and Freezer allow you to download the music you want to keep really easily.
I am still chugging along on Amazon Music Unlimited. They recently upgraded the HD quality for free, others you have to pay extra, and it is still the cheapest with Prime. My original app I was using sited above, Nuvola via Flatpack, stopped supporting Amazon Music, but luckily someone created another app for linux called Amusiz found in AUR. Works ok, and they keep improving it.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, a good source of info if I need to switch.
Sorry, I cannot take your Deezer shilling seriously, for the simple reason that all my friends would disavow me if they suspected I paid for my entertainment. In my circles, it’s a bit like soliciting a prostitute – rather frowned upon, and demonstrates the inability to get it for free.
Besides, it’s 𝖆𝖇𝖘𝖔𝖑𝖚𝖙𝖊𝖑𝖞 𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖙𝖆𝖗𝖞 and defective-by-design (DRM infected).
Hmm on reflection @moderators it may be best to close this topic, as it’s attracting spammers.
