I seem to be having issues installing Endeavour; I installed a img to a usb on rufus, turned off fast boot on windows 11, turned off secure boot in bios, and booted from my usb. My laptop is plugged into a power source and is connected with ethernet. I selected both options to update mirrors, and I’ve left over 300gb unallocated for the install. I have selected both ext4 and btrfs when choosing to replace a partition. Finally I have tried to install both online and offline. I normally get the error message failed to delete partition or windowsbootentry raised an exception. Thanks in advance
Make a new partition and be prepared to constantly have to fix dual boot every Windows update.
You will also have to disable bit locker encryption in Windows or grub cannot write to the boot sector of the disk shared with Windows.
In this case y9ou will probably have to hit an F-key to bring up the boot menu and select Linux every-time you want to boot into it. I did this for a year while I was moving all my necessaries to Linux.
It is BEST to install Linux and Windows on separate drives just because of the issue of Windows over writing boot partitions during certain updates.
IF a Windows drive boot is o er written it is a simple matter to boot into Linux by the PC’s boot device selection F-Key and once inside run a Grub update to repair the dual boot.
Lenovo/Dell Boot device selection is F12 not sure about HP.
MOST devices use F12, F11, or the delete key for boot device selection.’
My ASRock motherboard, for example, uses either or F12/Delete key: a google search should quickly reveal what your PC mother board uses.
Sorry I cannot respond anymore today, I am at work and have to go work now.
