I changed the dark theme into the default theme, the light theme is still there, you can choose it from your settings in your profile under interface.
I booted up this morning and went to the EndeavorOS Forum and thought, “Why am I still logged in?” I had the dark theme set as default and I knew; if light theme - not logged in, if dark theme logged in. No big deal, now I’ll just have to look for my avatar in the menu bar to see if I’m logged in. Once I started using the dark them the light theme seemed so stark and harsh.
I am considering bringing this theme also to the website.
This theme looks nice with my KDE Nordic theme
Tried to select light theme, but it keeps going back to dark.
Maybe a stupid question but on the bottom of your interface menu you have to click on save after you’ve chosen it, did you do that?
Okay, I feel stupid now… Guess I should wait until at least my fourth cup of coffee before trying anything and interacting with the world.
I personally don’t like dark themes, so I will definitely switch it to the light theme.
Honestly, I got shocked by the dark theme.
Please only if I can switch the theme easily on the bottom of the page or something like this.
I’ve become so accustomed to using dark themes that I didn’t even notice. I thought you were talking about the newest ISO
That makes two of us. At least. Dark themes seem to be fashionable at the moment.
I have also read not logged in so far. That will probably change then.
With a terminal logged into BBS, yes, the background was black. Since I was on the WWW for the first time (highly expensive) - with AMosaic - the background has been white for me.
However, if someone brings a Wordpress theme that resembles the design and handling of smxi.org, perhaps, I’ll think about it. For nostalgic reasons.
I like dark themes and use them when available. The one place where I would really like to have a dark theme is Google calendar. It’s like looking into a bright light when I switch from Gmail (dark theme) to calendar.
Must be a New Years resolution for year 2020 ~ Linux has gone Dark …
Thank you sir! that make it easier for me to read being 1/2 blind and the white swamps test and makes it hard to me to see… Thanks you!
I wish other forums would do this…
LLAP
Amen on the Google Calendar!
You should check out Dark Reader extension available for firefox and chrome (not sure what other browsers but those are the 2 I use). Basically it turns all websites into dark mode. A few rare occasions I’ve had to turn it off for a site due to the sites strange color scheme that makes it not convert well but aside from that I’ve been using it for over a year now and it works really well
Thanks for the tip - I knew I should have gone looking before now Dark themes are SO much easier on the eyes over time…
They are indeed. I love dark themes.
Was such a relieve when I switched full-time to Linux two years ago. I was finally able to properly theme my desktop with a dark theme that changes all the applications.
Never a bright moment in my life ever again if I can help it!
The only reason light themes and websites still have a purpose is for when you are in a very bright room or the sun is shining on your screen. A dark theme doesn’t help in that aspect.
Thank you very much for the contribution, it really works very well and it is a caress for my eyes!
They’re definitely useful for those of us who work in high contrast with accessibility tools. Glad the option is there by default, but everyone should have a choice.
