I think every manufacturer is different. My Samsung Galaxy Book Pro, F12 does nothing. F10 brings up boot menu and I can select from there.

You are correct but in the picture of his bios screen it showed F12.

Yer I’ve had many different choices in the past on different devices, this is why I mentioned to google it. (the other option is randomly guess, done this before but do not in anyway recommend)

Usingdd for making a bootable usb from an ISO, you don’t normally write it to a partition but to the device itself. In this case:of=/dev/sdb
