I was wondering why I’d suddenly had a load of folders pop up in .var/app when I don’t use flatpak. I think it’s potentially plasma-browser-integration (potentially coupled with Firefox) that does it, - just assuming that I’m running Firefox as a flatpak when I’m installing from the repos.

One quick question where do you get the option to disable the service, “Plasma Browser Integration Flatpak Integration”?
I could not find this in the KDE System Settings application.
Why do you think there is such an option?
It’s not visible in the System Settings app. You’d need to use krunner to open background services.
