Conky on Wayland (SwayWM)

For everyone on EOS, I added this functionality to my variant of the EOS SwayWM setup which I run on Debian/Sid. Again, thank you for the jumpstart. Please feel free to use this as you see fit…

“How to make Conky work on SwayWM and I presume on other Wayland desktop systems, as well.”

For me that option didn’t work although conky is working in Wayland perfectly here.
Gnome @ Wayland, system is up to date.

$ conky
conky: desktop window (400009) is subwindow of root window (3cf)
conky: window type - desktop
conky: drawing to created window (0x600002)
conky: drawing to double buffer
conky: Unknown setting 'out_to_wayland'
conky: forked to background, pid is 9389

Possibly a gnome implementation issue… I don’t really know.

No problem, anyway thanks for the insight, I’ll take a deeper look once I have some free time. :+1:

FWIW I did find on Debian SID that SwayWM (Wayland) today is only happy running in Liquorix Kernel. My point is that flakiness may abound.
