Check:
pacman -Qs xdg-desktop
If you have xdg-desktop-portal-gnome installed on a non GNOME desktop environment, this might be the cause of sluggishness you are experiencing.
If this is the case, you could simply uninstall xdg-desktop-portal-gnome.
