Last update was three months ago.
After installing thru terminal there are instructions on how to configure sounds. (The instructions show in terminal.) Basically sound files are in;
usr/share/sounds/LinuxMint/stereo/.
For the most part the sound files need to be .ogg, or .oga audio. I experimented, and converted a flak song, Young Disciples Theme - Road to Freedom, to ogg, and made it the startup sound, and it works great. It plays the whole song at startup. I love it
