Hi, I’m a new linux user, having fun setting up everything on cinnamon DE. However, one thing that annoys me and I cannot find anywhere how to change/fix is the window minimise/maximise/close buttons. They are miniscule on the UI even on a low res screen, and I honestly really miss the windows buttons.
On a similar note, I use VLC media player and when I maximise the window the top bar disappears so I have to use alt + drag or use the taskbar app button to minimise it.
Sorry if this a repeat of a previous question or a stupid question, but I couldnt find it anywhere.
Try changing themes to see if the window buttons are larger. I’m using Mint-Y, one of Linux Mint’s default themes. As far as VLC goes, unless you’ve installed a Cinnamon extension to hide maximized title bars, then that’s probably a VLC setting. I tried a couple of different apps and none exhibited this behavior.
Hmm OK, is there no real way to change that specifically then? I do really like cinnamon other than that tbh. Do you have any idea about how I would change that VLC behaviour?
Sorry, haven’t used VLC in a long time. With Xfce, you can specify a separate theme for the window manager; can’t remember if Cinnamon can do the same. I recommend checking on the Linux Mint forums.
