Chrome browser lagging

It almost happens every day. Chrome will freeze a couple seconds when I clicked on something or scrolled down the page. And it happens on all three of my EOS machines. How should I diagnose this?

Does this happen on Firefox?

I would see if it happens on another browser

No, only on Chrome. I have Brave and Librewolf and they are both fine.

Why do you need 3 browsers? Don’t use chrome then. :wink:

I wish I don’t need Chrome, but need it due to work requirement, digital tyranny…

It doesn’t seem to happen on Fedora Plasma though…

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration in the browser?

@apachecai
You could set some flags in chrome://flags or use kernel parameters. Maybe some of these as others have alluded to. Maybe post your hardware also. inxi -Faz | eos-sendlog Post the url.

--ignore-gpu-blacklist , --enable-gpu-rasterization
--enable-oop-rasterization

No swap partition ?

Negative

  1. Did you try to disable all extensions?
  2. Did you try pure Chromium?
  3. Digital tyranny you say? Does your company requieres you to install extra software?
  4. Check htop when it happens
