Can't type password in update terminal

Hey, new to endeavourOS, was having trouble after installation where I couldn’t type in the update terminal when it asks for my root password. Pressing enter would allow me to type, but no matter what I type in, I always get “Authentication failure”. I tried looking at a few other threads to see if I could find a solution, but to no avail. Can I get some help?

Is this your first time using Linux?

Terminal passwords have echo disabled. You don’t get any feedback when you type in your password.

So when you see

[sudo] password for username:

Just type in your user’s password (not your root password!). Don’t mind that there is no ***** characters) and press enter.

If that doesn’t work, you are typing in a wrong password.
