What DE? On my Cinnamon, I accidentally turned off “show desktop icons” once when folders weren’t showing.
EDIT: I see, KDE.

Check your desktop settings. There should be options for “desktop” and “Folder View” i believe.

Right click on the desktop. Should be an option for “desktop” I think.

it was when i changed the color of the folder to red now that i think about it and once i deleted it and recreated it… it worked!!! thank you for your help though i really did apreciate it
