Downloaded the 3.5.1 AppImage from the Audacity website, but when I tried to run it, nothing happened. When I used the terminal, I got this message:
./audacity-linux-3.5.1-x64.AppImage

When I tried to use pacman to install libgio-2.0.so, I was prompted to reinstall glib2.2.80.2-2, but Audacity still won’t work.

I’m just guessing but try reinstalling util-linux-libs
There is a bug report:
You could either install audacity from Arch’s repos or try the “workaround” suggested in the last post of the link posted above.

Decided to install Audacity through the package manager and it seems to work now. Thanks for your help.

Was there a reason for using the appimage?

Not really. Just thought it would be more convenient.
