Trying to install EOS on wife’s new PC and really don’t want to have to configure wireless at this time (insane password, MAC filtered), but the installer won’t start the wired network connection which it allowed me to create. When I try to get WLAN0 started I get ‘Rtnetlink Answers: Operation Not Permitted’. Ideas?
WLAN0 is probably not a wired connection. What does inxi -Nxxx return?
sorry for image – taking photo of wife’s monitor since it isn’t connected to anything!
Can you share ip a
Also, WLAN0 is wired connection on my PC, so figured it was for new PC.
Hmm…it looks your Realtek 8125 wired connection isn’t finding the driver. Can you tether off your phone to get through the install and then fix the driver issue from the installed system?
WLAN stands for Wireless LAN so I don’t think it will be a wired connection. At least, I have never seen that.
Not sure my phone can do that. At this point, it appears it will be easier to do the wireless configurations.
Since the EOS installer was from several months ago, I tried downloading the latest: it had the necessary driver for the NIC. Yeah!!
Installation is in process.
Thanks for the help, dalto.
This is a rebuild of current release with new packages and all hotfixes integrated.
