Can't figure out how to install nvidia drivers

After try inxi -Ga

No guarantees but lets see what it shows after.

man i think you are legend

Why did you do that?
You had successfully booted with the nvidia drivers, or have I misunderstood?
What was wrong?

nvidia-smi is working now and here is the output

Okay so is installed now and running booted on Intel. Now you need to switch for nvidia using Optimus or some method.

because you have to reboot once running nvidia-installer-dkms or did i misunderstand you ?

i think it should work now thank you so so much @ricklinux @petsam @Scotty_Trees @vlkon you are awesome !!

Youā€™ll have to try to see if it will switch graphics. But nvidia is installed now.

yeah at least the drivers are working

They are installed and showing up as installed. But they donā€™t do anything unless you switch to them with envy control or optimus-manager or some method.

No one loves beating their head against a wall more for nvidia users than you; thank you for your services :stuck_out_tongue:  :broccoli:

yes got it iā€™ll try

I try but itā€™s hard to understand as i donā€™t have Hybrid graphics. So you have more to give with respect to envy-control and or other methods of switching.

Edit: Youā€™re Scotty Treesā€¦ Iā€™m just a brocoli tree!
Edit2: Iā€™m green!
Edit3: Unfortunately Iā€™m not green with Envyā€¦i got no Envy-Control!

Itā€™s always a bit easier to understand when knowing exactly what a user did to install things and how they set things up. Otherwise, itā€™s always a bit of a guessing game

Iā€™m always doing thatā€¦

Are you using optimus-manager? Or envycontrol?

i tried envycontrol just now but after switching to nvidia i can no longer boot it hangs at hostname service so i had to alt+F2 and switch back to integrated so i am looking into that

Iā€™m not that familar with envycontrol. I usually use optimus-manager.

iā€™ll try that
