Here’s a new on me…
[ejm@mbp ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed to synchronize all databases (unable to lock database)
My entire laptop locked up for some reason in the middle of performing a sudo pacman -Syu moments before and I had to poweroff hard with the power button.
Upon returning, although it booted up just fine, I cannot now complete the update process when starting over with another -Syu.
Must have crippled a lock somewhere. 
Solutions come to mind?
