Cannot install themes on KDE anymore

Hi all! I’ve been running into an issue with plasma 6 themes, where whenever I try and install one I get an error like this:

Installation of /tmp/JHUFxG-Sweet.tar.xz failed: Could not install dependency: ‘kns://colorschemes.knsrc/api.kde-look.org/1294011’

There’s another post on here from about two years ago with the same error but here the fix seems to be log in and out, but that doesn’t do anything for me :confused:

is there a fix to this bug yet, or anything I can do?

The installation failed the same way with me.
As it depends on Helium theme

yay -S ocs-url

Installed with clicking on Install the uppermost and then similarly:
https://store.kde.org/p/1294174
It works for me.

Hi, thanks for the reply!!

I installed the package, clicked install on the themes but nothing really happened after that, it doesn’t show up in the system settings field at all and I still get the error when installing via the main theme thing. Is there something more I should do?

I’ve never used the web KDE store to do this so I’m a noob for this hahahha

So, when installing Helium did you click the tar.gz and see

the same with Sweet KDE.
At worst case log out and back again. Then at Settings Global theme Get new and write sweet

Select Utterly Sweet and Apply. (I’m not a KDE matador either.)

Sorry for not replying! I kinda forgot, stuff got hectic with the holidays.

Utterly Sweet and Sweet are not the same theme, they’re made by different people, I think Utterly Sweet was inspired by Sweet, and iirc Utterly Sweet was on plasma 6 first while Sweet took a bit. I think I’m using Utterly Sweet rn, actually, because Sweet wasn’t around for 6 when I installed EOS and I knew it from plasma 5 on debian.

Installing Sweet via “Get new” in the system settings still gives me the “Installation of /tmp/JHUFxG-Sweet.tar.xz failed: Could not install dependency: ‘kns://colorschemes.knsrc/api.kde-look.org/1294011” error, sadly

I would normally test before suggesting but my internet speed is super slow right now, what I would try is find the file under /tmp and remove it than try again. If this doesn’t work download it and place the files in the correct directories after (this is what I normally do these days as I can see what is going where)

I reinstalled EnOS neo Plasma to see these dependencies.
Apart from installing ocs-url
mkdir -p .local/share/plasma/desktoptheme
see Final note
Dowloaded Sweet.tar.xz from here and extracted to ~.local/share/plasma/desktoptheme as Sweet. Then

sorry not to be exact but the installation was repeated cca. 3 times with log-outs log-ins and finally Theme Sweet seems to work in Plasma 6
Final note /Wiki:
“A deterministic system is a system in which no randomness is involved in the development of future states of the system. A deterministic model will thus always produce the same output from a given starting condition or initial state.”

I feel like an obstacle here and thus KDE is not my daily driver.
(Hyprland with ML4W and Cinnamon on EnOS is enough for me)
