Linux version 6.12.17-1-lts (linux-lts@archlinux) (gcc (GCC) 14.2.1 20250207, GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.44) #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu, 27 Feb 2025 14:12:30 +0000
I am on a 6800xt GPU. Getting this error when trying to change the hz to 60.
Couldn't apply display configuration: The driver rejected the output configuration.
Tried other smaller resolutions and it seems to work fine also 4k @50hz works too. I have Windows on dual boot and the display works fine on it but not on linux it seems. Imagined it might be cable so got a new cable that should support upto 8k@60hz and still no change. The display is connected via HDMI cable.
Any suggestions?

How do you do that? What is the command / config you use?
And is this with wayland or X11?
Please share output of inxi -Fz

What are the monitors it’s connected to in order as above.
Edit: Are both monitors connected to the 6800XT as i see you have cpu with iGPU?

Yes both monitors are connected to the GPU, the 4k one is connected to a HDMI port and no, my CPU does not have an igpu.
You seem to be facing a similar issue as me: Monitor capped at 30Hz after yay (on Wayland)
Can you log into an X session and check if the problem also occurs there? While not a solution, it might help narrow down the issue.

Wow you were right - it works perfectly fine at 60hz when I’m on a X11 session. Would’ve never expected this to be the cause lol
yay
The problem ceased to exist for me with a system update just now. Give it a try and report back, please! Good luck!
