the guy had 4 picture of the BD: front cover, inside front cover, ‘page’ 3 where the disk is, and back cover (I was a printer, hence my names) and no mention of 4K. Sounds like software capability would be the difference?
I have no clue as to what techology enables the higher-res and storage capacity of 4K BDs.
Now that I think about it, I did check out a 4K BD from the library just to test it. It worked. I watched (and ripped) the movie, then returned it. I’m not much of a TV or movie buff, though, so I haven’t purchased any. My collection is mainly concert videos and nothing that interests me has been released on 4K BD.
I’m sure cloud-only didn’t catch on immediately if one owned the plastic disc. But once they learned how to monetize the heck out of cloud viewing most can’t live with out it (I am living without it)
