Can I disable the "Recent" folder

I am running Plasma. How can I turn off the Recent folder in dolphin?

Right click on it, select hide

You can also use the Activities option in the system settings and turn off tracking file and app use

My guess is the recent files are still on the computer if I hide it. I unchecked in activities, but the recent files are still in there. This is stupid security risk. I want to remove the files, and disable the folder.

Just tested it out with these settings and it didn’t remember the file I opened, to remove files already in history just click the clear history. (Noticed after there is a second option for dolphin so you may need to turn it off also for some things)
