Call for research on some lean default powersaving option

power-profiles-daemon has replaced TLP for a better hardware compatibility, resulting in lean and minimal power savings by default. For Gnome and Plasma users, the power-profile-daemon will be integrated in the settings menu of the DE.

Ain’t that a little bit too rushed for release…? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Besides it’s only processor, not even close to tlp for a replacement

TLP can cause problems unless the user configures it completely.

Yes, but because it has been pulled into both GNOME and KDE there are many systems that are using it for power management already - by default, power-profile-daemon disables all other power management services (which is possibly a little bit rude…).

That is VERY rude in fact… :unamused:

I mean, i build iso myself, but for other people i’m not sure that’s best way out of few problems for selected hardware, i still think wiser option would be maybe some relaxed pre-config for tlp.

but id does not cause issues in the same way as TLP does, and user should setup these on his personal want and needs.

that`s for is this Thread here  to find / create something lean and useful.
