Calamares Partitioning page - where from it picks GiB word from?

Hi!

My Calamares uses the lang directory to translate english text to my national translation (calamares_ru.ts file),

GiB to ГБ. The problem is that on partitionning page it translates

GiB to ГиБ instead of ГБ. In the lang directory I’ve changed all of the ГиБ to ГБ, but on the

partitionning page I still see ГиБ (instead of ГБ).

My question is where from it takes this ГиБ value? Maybe it’s taken from the system and have nothing to deal with Calamares sources?

I’ve used the grep -r ГиБ linux command to find any remaining ГиБ, but it doesen’t find any.

The problem is only on partitionning page.

The calamares translations come from transifex and are merged in on a regular basis.

That being said, the EOS forum isn’t a Calamares support forum. While we don’t mind being helpful on a variety of topics, your questions would be better addressed by the official Calamares support channel on Matrix.

Still no problem resolution. The problem is that the “ГиБ” (in russian) short word that stands for “GiB” (in english) on the partition module and on the summary module is not present in the calamares_ru.ts file (inside I’ve already changed everything).

Please help.

@andre46, as has been mentioned already, this is not a support forum for Calamares. I suspect you’ll need to wait for an answer at Codeberg.

Right, the issues section is not a place to get support. It is a place to log issues.

The only support channel for Calamares is Matrix as I recommended above.

You can create an account from any matrix server. You don’t need to create the account at KDE.
