Caja No Sound Preview

I have EOS installed with the Mate desktop. The issue is that when using Caja, it will not preview any sound files even though the file has the arrow when the mouse is hovered over the file. My speakers work on my laptop and I can play audio and video and sounds are present. I have searched but can not find a way to correct this. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

What shows, when you start caja from the command line?

Can you post the output here?

Also, the Mate DE does not require Caja in and of itself. You could just remove caja and install a different file-manager instead.

When started from the command line, Caja opens “normally” just like if I would have opened it from the panel icon and there is no ouput in terminal. I know I dont need Mate for Caja but I do like a few other things that Mate brings along with it.

… not the whole DE.

Just checking: do you have gstreamer installed?

Install the rest of them as well:

gst-plugins-base
gst-plugins-good

Perhaps a reboot and then check.
