CachyOS keeps booting to emergency mode

Firstly, I really don’t want to register to just to ask over on their forum for one little thing.
I didn’t see anything in guidelines or rules about asking for help with other Arch based OS so I’m feeling this should hopefully be fine asking around here by posting my thread.

Not sure where or how I can upload my CachyOS recent log for this

Just curious, if you bought a stereo from a man called Stan, do you ask Adam why it doesn’t work ?

Just register, seriously, it’s an arch based distro, you’re gonna have more problems than this, it’s only a matter of time.

All arch and arch-based distro users are ultimately the same.

I’m not sure if eos even has anything called emergency mode, so you’re really barking up the wrong tree here.

Yes. People, not me, quite literally do this all the time. No joke. :globe_with_meridians: :

I’m sorry, but this isn’t the CachyOS forum, it’s the EndeavourOS forum. If you don’t want to register, I’m sure they have a Discord server or Matrix Space or something along those lines that you can use instead.

I find it very odd that you would take the time to read forum rules and not take a few minutes to just register on the appropriate forums. However with that said exactly what do you expect us to be able to help with when you give us no other information? What lead up to this issue? Is this a new install? Did you recently update?

So unless your willing to share more information you have tied our hands.

Hi

I’ve moved your post to “Other distro” since it doesn’t relate with EndeavourOS.

There’s no issue with that. Reporting issues will only make their developers aware and possible, ship a bug fix.

Feel free to ask here, but do note, CachyOS does NOT use vanilla Arch packages. They compile packages with their own set of flags, which the users here may not be accustomed with and might not be able to properly help you out. Again, CachyOS forum will be a better place if you want quick and effective resolution.

As I said, CachyOS kernel has notable patches, which may or may not work on your hardware. I might be hazy with details, but they also use compilation flags which older processors don’t support (don’t take my word for it!).

Some relevant links from their forum

As I said, the issue will be better resolved at CachyOS forum.

This sounds really confusing to be honest.

First you don’t want to create account for appropriate forum to get information you need and want, but you don’t have issue to create one for here.

Why? Don’t you want help? Or do you you simply want to create discussion around your choice? After the influx of newcomers, who apparently were dumb kids pretending to be haxors, I am now highly suspicious.

Of course, maybe I am just paranoid.

It looks like she joined in October so there’s definitely a layer of paranoia there :upside_down_face:

There is always chance that Adam is local car-mechanic.

But he can also be guy who smashes everything with hammer.

Hah, not sure I’d want a car mechanic trying to fix a stereo. An electronics expert might be a better place to look, but ideally you just take it back where you bought it, right ?

Well, unless it’s a robot in disguise… Tadah-tattadah!

Oh, wait…

If it’s Soundwave he’s still a radio so… Nevermind. I can’t read.

Have they tried a seance? or a Ouija board? That is always my first port of call.

 or my own opinion , cachyos is based on arch not arch based…lol

They repackaged stuf and add kernel patches for there own. Common thing is pacman and system that’s it. But as patches as x86_64_v4 arch doesn’t do…

As endeavouros itself feels sure as a linux community…

bro if cachy boots into emergency mode , get endeavouros , it is just arch and you can get cachy kernel on it easily

you are here too?

@ChristineLvX89
Welcome to EndeavourOS. I think you would be better off installing EOS KDE and then if you have any issues or questions you would learn much more and at a faster pace. I too have tried CachyOS and I’m not a big fan of customized kernels and patches that some distros use not to say I don’t like CachyOS. I think you’ll get a better experience with EOS. You won’t be disappointed.
