Budgie is consuming ram a little more than usual

I removed xfce and i wanted to try different DE.
So i chose budgie and i installed using the eos package list.
But after installation i feel like i’m still using vanilla gnome.
when i right click on desktop and choose system settings nothing works.BUT,when i search settings on the search i get the gnome settings(GTK4) and the theming is still adwaita.
And budgie is eating ram than normal(I’ve used budgie before on the same lap with almost same condition).
Plz help.

Install ps_mem and then run sudo ps_mem to see what is consuming memory.

Don’t mind the easyeffects.
Even without easyeffects usage is high

You would need to paste the text where it says type or paste code here for proper formatting.

I don’t see this as a memory problem. What are your hardware specs?

1.3 GiB at idle seems pretty high to me.

You have a lot of strange stuff there though. You seem to be running programs from multiple DEs. Do you have more than one DE installed?

Yeah I previously installed xfce and kde but now only budgie.
Please help.

Switching desktops requires some care. How did you remove xfce and plasma?

Have you tried removing orphans?

Oh How to do that?

Please refer archwiki regarding this.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Pacman/Tips_and_tricks#Removing_unused_packages_(orphans)

Are xfce and kde based processes still running on my system ?

I am not familiar enough with budgie to know which of those processes belong to budgie but at the very least you shouldn’t be running baloo.

You also have a number of other things running which are consuming memory that I don’t think would be in a base install.

How can i remove KDE(atleast) completely from my system?

sudo pacman -Rc plasma

Then remove orphans as described above.

sudo pacman -Qtdq | pacman -Rns -
error: you cannot perform this operation unless you are root.

You need sudo in front of both pacman commands.

sudo pacman -Qtdq | sudo pacman -Rns -
