Budgie 10.10 is the First Wayland-Only Version.
Time to activate extra-testing and update my VM. I really like Budgie, but I left it in favour of wayland some time ago. Time for a revisit.
How easy is an upgrade? I read that LightDM doesn’t support Wayland. So I have to change it, right?
What to choose? SDDM?
According to the Arch Wiki, it does. I believe it’s still the default with Cinnamon, and it has experimental support for Wayland sessions. Since 10.10 has reached the stable repos, I’m going to upgrade today.

Running 10.10 in Ubuntu Budgie with their added dev repo. Had a couple of display quirks but worked it out with wdisplay.
Updating to 10.10 didn’t work for me. LightDM couldn’t start. Boot hangs at Reached target Graphical Interface
And in lightdm.log it says session_real_start: assertion 'priv->pid == 0' failed
What can I do?
