Browsers of choice

@dalto i share your opinion on this. that being said, chdsl can use whatever browser he chooses for whatever reasons he wants.
chdsl didn’t ask for advice and he doesn’t need to explain why he uses whatever browser he uses.
I was carefully trying to gauge if he is aware of the controversy around the browser. He is. There is really nothing more to add. To each its own

I am in no way implying that he can’t use whatever browser he likes.

However, when someone presents a point I think it is important that the other side be seen as well because other people read these topics. Someone might say to themselves yes that is a good point without understanding the whole picture.

Since he was hammering home the point the about this being a Chinese company as the only issue, I felt pointing out the real issue was warranted for others who come after. Not everyone was going to read the link you posted.

Especially when the risk is as objectively high as it in this case.

I will continue to support Firefox.

For the past 20 years, Mozilla has been leading the fight for competition, innovation and consumer choice in the browser market and beyond. They have a long track record of creating innovative products and services that respect the privacy and security of consumers, and have successfully pushed the market to follow suit.

I am back again on Firefox. I did not lasted long on the Chromium. Sometimes you need to go back to appreciate what you had. Firefox is just really good at rendering pages stable while also having good smooth scrolling that is not interrupted by the page still loading content.

Chrome can still be jumpy/laggy in this regard.

While I am here, does anyone know if it is possible to tell Firefox the completely load pages in the background?

Right now, if I open a few tabs in the background, not all the content is loaded until i select/focus the tab.

Pretty annoying to see pages still rendering some stuff.

Since Firefox has a lot more tweaking under the hood with about:config I am hoping someone has found a solution for it.

And then there is surf by suckless, a bit rough and unpolished, but quite a viable option in case all others fail.

Mental Outlaw made an… interesting… video about it:

Firefox  … my browser of choice. :+1:

Privacy over profit

No shareholders. No data for sale.

Oooh yeah “the Evils of Big Tech”. Just throw in the “the Evils of Mainstream Media” and you make my day!

:joy:

Everybody loves the

BTW I use Firefox!
