Browsers of choice

I won’t use it because …it come from Microsoft.I prefer Firefox and i use Chromium as a back up because i like the feature of language change.

Unfortunately @nate @BONK us spot on. On my new computer I have not added it yet until they get it rebuilt. On my home computer I’m still running the version from December before the crash. If you compile from the UR it definitely takes many hours. I’m hoping the chaotic mirror comes back soon otherwise I’ll have to find something else for it

Never understood the purpose of Ungoogled Chromium; if you are that paranoid that you literally remove all benefits of using Chromium (except the blink engine) why not just use Firefox or Brave?

No Sync / having to manually install extensions are deal-breakers for me.

Firefox for me not cause of the privacy aspect but mostly cause I can themeit via CSS so I make it match whatever colour scheme I’m using

If you don’t mind using flatpaks:

understandable, i like css as well, sadly mozilla is gonna remove css in the future.

AAA!!! This is news to me! No!! What were their reasons? Do you have any idea?

i guess, less control the user has the less problems for them i suppose, the whole chrome copy thing they have been doing for quite a while now, there are probably behind the scenes reason we dont know about as well.
they have yet to say a date but it is an explicitly not enabled legacy feature so the question is only, when.

I use Firefox (even for development purposes), but my customers mostly use Chrome. I have to test my work on every major browser so it looks good. I’d love to do that while also retain my privacy. Right now I’m using Chromium, but I’d love to use ungoogled Chromium for this purpose if possible.
Unfortunately, as I feared there is no simple solution, like an AUR bin package. I don’t like having additional repos, nor do I like using snaps. I was hoping by now there would be such a package.

another privacy respecting option for chromium would be iridium.

That was a very good game on the C64.

Get the  … Firefox!

You mean the Burning Worm? Or the Yellow Swoosh? (Not to be confused with the Greenish Blue Swoosh, by Microsoft).

(Yes I am one of those people who really really loathe the “new and improved” logos).

pretty much why i changed the default firefox logo to the classic one and for anybody who wants quick access to it, here is mine.

I am considering Vivaldi, which I use for those rare times I boot WIndows. I continue to be frustrated by not being able to use one browser everywhere, though Firefox does work most places.

Where are you changing the logo?

depends on your de, but you can use menulibre from the aur that should allow you to change your menus in any distro you want
there you can choose whatever icon you like for any menu item
