Boxes too large to display on screen

I don’t have the luxury of dual monitors, so I have to do everythng on a 15.4" LCD screen on the Acer laptop. https://clbin.com/KTBSn

Boxes are so large they are at the maximum size and I cannot move the box to get to the buttons at the bottom to save or whatever, since I cannot even see them. It’s not a browser things, so I wonder if they can be corrected?
I can post a screencast if needed.

On GNOME:

Try SuperKey + Right Mouse Click to move the window.

Or

Alt + Space then, Move, Resize, etc.

It’s not a problem moving the box around. I can resize, I just can’t shrink the box enough so the buttons are visible. The box goes too low to reach. I was hoping there is a config where all these parameters are set.

Thanks for your reply from a Gnome pov.

There might very well be. Somewhere
Time to dig!

Been digging since 4am AST

Better get out the tool box! :toolbox:

:hammer_and_wrench:  I can live with it Rick, but it would be good if I could see the whole box.

I don’t like boxes. I prefer Windows. so i can see out!

Edit: Maybe you need OpenBox

Rick, does this sound like a Gnome issue, or who/what do you think is the culprit.

Not sure it’s a Gnome issue. Is this the normal resolution of this monitor? 1366x768

Yes. So there is nothing to be done?

Any issue in the Linux world is either nvidia’s or Gnome’s

Try this extension: Awesome Tiles - GNOME Shell Extensions

It works on gnome 42. Read about how the keyboard shortcuts work.

Very useful extension. Did not solve my issue, but I am not holding my breath on this. I have already learned to accept it. So it’s time to learn some new key bindings.

Since I don’t have nvidia…

Just don’t get me started on Nvidia and GNOME on Wayland

Argh!! Someone on the extension reviews complained it wont work on WAYLAND, but on Ubuntu. It was from January, but I have it working fine.
What about you? Did you install the extension Jack referred us to?

No. I am pretty content with the layout as it is, floating windows that is.

$ xdpyinfo | grep dots

resolution: 96x96 dots per inch

My screen is max 1366x768, so what to try next?
