For my tabletop with a dual boot W11+ EOS Ganimede I have a matter today : the computer start only on windows , the grub menu seems not exist ; note the battery of this pc was completely out and then probably something wrong happens (W11 start as default ?) .
In the BIOS in boot menu only appear the “Window Boot Manager” , no other choice ! the grub menu was configured for a EOS automatic start up and all was working well .
Then any idea ? shall I use a live USB and launch boot sequence for reinstall grub ? or is there something more simple ?
I have installed the live usb and proceed with arch-chroot , I updated the OS but nothing about grub . I tried os-prober command but I had qn error as os-grub error on sda1 , it s EFI partition
also there is nothing in the /boot/grub EFI folder
is there a way with the live system to found the boot install only?
I finally installed refind as ch-root is not working ( folder EFI containt nothing ) ; then now for future OS updating what could happend ? shall I set “ os-prober-disabled = true” in file /etc/default/grub ? I was familiar with grub , it’s the time a such matter occur ( laptop with battery at 0 , it’s my fault )
Thanks for information, i wait replies before consider “solved”
I’ve become smitten with limine as boot loader, it is human-readable configuration and minimal (unlike cough grub, requiring incomprehensible configuration for customization and arcane invocations of grub-install, grub-update,etc…yeah I am exaggerating a mite..but only a little). Refind (for me) always seemed busy and cluttered, but that’s just an opinion.
