Bluetooth phone + webcam crash gnome

I’m using fully up-to-date endeavouros in my notebook (samsung galaxy book2, a 11th gen i5) and applications that use my bluetooth + webcam seem to be crashing. I’m sure this problem didn’t exist about a month ago, when I had my last 2025 meetings.

Today I opened zoom app to join a meeting and helf second after the webcam led turned on the error happened: Gnome crashed, gone back to login screen (gdm), I heard the bluetooth connection being established again, and on login none of my previous desktop windows were still running.
Then I moved on to google meets browser-based meeting, but the same thing happened, gnome logout, bluetooth reconnected, all the same on chrome and firefox browsers.
I was able to deny camera access and after that the meeting occurred with no problem, bluetooth working for audio and mic (an anker p30 headset).
Also if I run cheese app the webcam works fine. Using both seems to be the pain point.
Tested both kernels, lts (6.12?) and current (6.18), same behavior.
If I connect a p3 headset, webcam + sound works fine.

Anyone else facing this issue recently? I’m using endeavouros in this notebook for about 10 months, everything seems to be running smoothly excepts for this.

It looks like you are caught by the same bug that has hit Gnome users with the wireplumber update just recently. I did a bug report a little over a week ago & posted here about it. I would recommend downgrading wireplumber & libwireplumber to 15.2 & then see if the problem is “fixed”.

My posting with information: Crash with Bluetooth headphones after Wireplumber 5.13-1 update

sudo downgrade wireplumber libwireplumber

And “lock” both…I’m following the issue & will update my post when it looks like the issue is “solved”.

Yes, it looks similar! I’m running an update just to check if new packages related to these libs surface, then I’ll try downgrading as you described

I have been checking several times a day….nothing so far. It looks like it will be a couple of weeks before we see a “fix”…. so keep them downgraded until 15.4 shows up.
