I have a laptop with amd igpu and nvidia dgpu.
I just installed endeavouros and the installer asked me to restart (p.s I chose kde plasma), i checked on restart now , hit done . It did some stuff asked me to make a choice among several endeavourOS options , i chose the top one , it did some stuff and then the screen went black with β_β on top left. I tried some stuff , at the end I had to reinstall the OS and now same thing
Hi and welcome to the forum.
You probably got hit by this bug β Mesa caution to All users - #43 by MichelN
When you use the up and down key during boot, try the fallback mode and see if that fixes the issue. If not you have to chroot into your installation and downgrade mesa.
Welcome to the forum
Unless something changed with the installer if a offline install for KDE was done, the bug would only show up after updating the system. Furthermore I can see you have Nvidia , did you select the option, when installing, for Nvidia from the systemd boot loader ?
Thank you for responding , the nvidia gpu I have is a relatively old version , nvidia rtx 4050 laptop ik itβs not the oldest GPUs but I didnot choose that option , and I believe that was the mistake , I had to boot into endeavour nomodeset and install the drivers from there to get the thing working
Also how do I close this topic
Thank you for responding sir , but I found an alternate fix by booting in via nomodeset and manual driver install
