I just installed EndevourOS for the first time to try it out on a VirtualBox on a Windows System.
My BitDefender antivirus (on the Windows host) got a little upset during the install, and during mirror optimization.
I don’t know if the mirror has malicious software on it, or if it has in the past and it’s now fixed, or if BitDefender is just being cranky.
But someone might want to look at this.
Here is the critical message:

i would not use this mirror anway… … they are a lot arch mirrors and i do not think they are compromized… indeed could be but packages are saved in addition with signing and other stuff
Welcome here and have fun on your endeavour
You can go ranking mirrors manually with the tool (buttoms) from welcome app and if it still adds this one you can remove it manually by editing /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
Thanks! I wasn’t really worried. It must have dropped off the mirrorlist anyway when I optimized during the install. It’s not listed in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist. It would have failed as a good mirror when the antivirus blocked it.
I’m liking EndevourOS a lot so far.
Now I’m trying to install Gargoyle. It has a missing a build dependency in the AUR, I just don’t know what. I had the same problem with it on Manjaro. After I’d installed something else unrelated later it worked.
I don’t think it’s the word: “hack” in the URL the antivirus didn’t like, I use hackerrank, hackertyper (pretty funny, BTW. You should visit it for a chuckle) etc.
I think it might be more likely an IP in a worrisome range from the mirror’s location, Moldova, or something like that.
[EDIT] I was writing this while people were posting the problem with the mirror might be legit, LOL!
