checked kernel boot parameters. No "quiet"
Last time i could get into UEFI settings boot logo was enabled.
strange that i don’t see any boot messages at all

Hmmm, I need to think about this a little more. I’m running out of options to suggest.
Did you try the Del key multiple times after doing a hard reboot?
Thanks for your help so far. Will try the Del key. In the past I used F2 key

One of the keys goes direct to UEFI settings, the other key gives boot order with an option to enter UEFI. I just forget which key does which. It’s been about six months since I had to do that on my ASRock machine. Since it’s in the attic, I’m not doing so anytime soon.
