Best E-mail reader.

Was wondering what the conscientious was for the ‘best’ email program. (i.e. kmail, thunderbird, evolution, claws?) Right now I’m running claws because for the life of me can’t figure out how the spam filters using ‘bogofilter, spamassassin’ are working in thunderbird and evolution. I keep getting re-occurring messages in my trash, and inbox, even after marking and deleting them. Kmail message sorting seems slow. . .
Right now claws seems to be doing the job. . . . once I mark a message as ‘junk’ it ends up in my trash bin. . . deleted 60 messages a few minutes ago. . . all in my trash after startup.

Another question what is this about with claws? s

I doubt there is a consensus choice but I use Betterbird which is basically Thunderbird.

Mail clients are one of those things where everyone has different priorities so there is no best fit for everyone.

I guess I should reframe the question. . . . which one handles ‘spam’ and ‘re-occurring spam’ the best? I guess it might be just a pipe dream. . . .

Rich

It’s your job to train the antispam to your needs. For example with Thunderbird it’s the same as with Claws, but you also need to mark the good mails as “not junk” if you want some efficiency from the filter.

Yes, I agree or they all end up in the trash. . . .

very superstitious about having a 3rd party (client) open my mail for me. I just haven’t gotten over that mental barrieryet. I just go the source and open it. I did look at Claws once, it was up my alley (small).
Someday the convenience will tip the scales. Right now i just cut and paste from keepassxc (w/out the browser extension) to open my accounts. time-consuming? yes.

I started too about 2 weeks ago! Seems absolutely ok…

But… so far I’m kind of still doing that:

I’d fire off a retort but I have to adjust my tinfoil. Get off my lawn, hippie.

well, if I’m being completely honest, I do have the extension on one of my browsers.

I’ve downloaded ‘betterbird’ and will be giving it a run for a while and see how it pans out. Thanks for the insights.

Rich;)
