Be200 pci-e wifi not showing in lspci

It’s because if the hardware isn’t recognized it’s not going to show or work. It has to be firmware or kernel module one would think. But it could be some other issue also. :thinking:

@KakoMG

What desktop did you install?

Edit: Does WiFi work on the live ISO?

Windows fast start has always been turned off. But earlier today I tried to reset the bios once again and BIOS Fast Boot stayed on, but I’ve now turned it off again.

It doesn’t work on live ISO, I used a tethering connection with my smartphone to configure and update. By desktop did you mean the other distributions I tried?

Were the logs you shared in your initial post, before or after that BIOS reset?

Might it be worth running lspci -vnn again?

@ricklinux, KDE Plasma is the DE.

Under Windows, seeing as that’s where it’s working, might you be able to share your WiFi driver info?

netsh wlan show drivers

I ran “powercfg -h off” after disabling the fast startup function, so it is no longer usable on Windows.

You could try installing linux-firmware-git and then reboot.

Okay… have you tried installing the Pci-e card in another slot? Or is there only one slot available? Then maybe take it out and re-seat it. I had another user move it to another slot and then it worked. It wasn’t the exact same card but if the hardware isn’t recognized it won’t work.

Edit: It looks like you have 2 Pci-e slots so try moving it to the other slot.

I’m going to change it, I didn’t change it before because in Windows it’s working normally. But unfortunately I’ll have to do it tomorrow because to change the slots I’ll have to open the case and I don’t have any tools at the moment. I have an old BCM4350 that I used in that same slot and it worked on Linux and Windows, bluetooth+wifi.

This may be so but the be200 is WiFi 7 is quite different hardware.

WiFi 7 is the upcoming WiFi standard, also known as IEEE 802.11be Extremely High Throughput (EHT). It works across all three bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz) to fully utilize spectrum resources.

Edit: Make sure you have it unplugged and ground yourself to remove any static before touching any component inside the case.

I switched to the second pci-e x1 slot on the motherboard, but unfortunately it didn’t appear in lspci. :smiling_face_with_tear:

This bug is not specific to EOS, maybe some kernel bug? I have tried Ubuntu stock kernel(6.8), Ubuntu oem(6.10), Xanmod(6.10) and now EOS kernel(6.11)

Have you tried using the firmware 90 or 92 from this page that is highlighted?

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/tree/

On Ubuntu, yes, I replaced all the linux-firmware files, including the iwlwifi 90 and 92 .ucode files (sorry for my mistake, I said “core” last time). Now on EOS I installed linux-firmware-git which is up to date with the files released until yesterday, v.20241001.95bfe086-1. I can download and replace the files if they are different.

Not sure if they are different but i thought i would ask if you tried these firmware files from this link.

Edit: It seems there is some issue with amd motherboards and this card. Read this!

@KakoMG
On one Intel support page it shows a user was ble to connect after adding these firmware but on a different distro. :person_shrugging:
