Has anyone heard of this? I did a forum search to see if there had been a mention of “Bamboo End”, but found nothing. I also did a forum search for a user with the handle of satodu (the developer’s handle), and also found nothing.

Seems to have been “announced” in the EndeavourOS Subreddit here. Some commenters are assuming “A.I. slop” and the app being “vibe coded.”

tells me that at least the statement that the dev himself is an enthusiast for the distribution(s) might be an far stretch.
Also, it totally unclear in which way the official (Arch and EOS) repos are handled. But the description

… does tell me that I won’t be superior to the regular use of pacman and/or yay (and some autocompletion magic).

He should make it VERY CLEAR this is NOT OFFICIALLY Supported by EndeavourOS I can see people getting this having issue and then posting for help here. This should probably be addressed by the Higher ups as this to me is no different than dev that used the Antergos Name to push a NEW project with no connection to the original.

Should be at the top of the page in big bold letters. Putting it where it is again goes back to my point of making it VERY Clear.
Most people see things like EndeavourOS store and then immediately proceed to download. Shady developers use this tactic to get people to download their project.

The comments on those reddit threads turned me off right away. He wrote it initially for Cachy, then it got rejected by those users so he moved to EOS. It’s AI-generative code, so take it with a massive grain of salt. I’m sticking with Pacseek (for Arch/AUR) and Discover (flatpak & firmware).

It has. Pleasantly surprised. When it first launched, it came across as a “hobby” type app being made for fun. It’s turned into a pretty robust, usable app.

Not interested. Why did I uninstall Discover from my KDE Plasma system, only to have some AI shop do the same opaque stuff that Discover does with Flatpaks?
And why aren’t we hearing any rave reviews from CachyOS about their Bamboo AI “Wonderland” (=Slope)?
